Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.
Rishikesh as appering the Adventure Capital of India for the adventure seekers as Rishikesh is the suggested place for starting their trekking expeditions to the Himalayan Peaks and for the White River Rafting. Also, International Yoga week which attracts participation from across the world, is held here, every year, in February on the banks of the holy Ganga
Arrive in Rishikesh office 10.00am, go for aJungle trek to the Neerghar Water Fall. Later, transfer to jungle camp. Have lunch in jungle camping go jangle hike . Get back to camp and spend some free time to explore the area. Enjoy evening bonfire with litte snacks. Have dinner. Overnight at the camp.
Trekking to Dashrath Ka Danda Meadows Leisurely breakfast. Drive one-hour to start of trek at approx. 4800 ft asl. Trek ascends approx 3000 ft over 4-6 hours through mixed forest of rhododendron, pine and oak through a secluded part of the lower Himalaya. Picnic lunch enroute. Arrive at the campsite on a high ridge with panoramic views of the high Himalaya stretching from the peaks of Western Garhwal – Banderpunchh (6135m) Chaukhamba (7345 m) to the peaks of Kumaon – Trisul, Nanda Devi both over 7000m, – to the east into Nepal. Camp overnight on the ridge in alpine tents.
Have breakfast in the morning. Later, start on River Rafting from Shivpuri to Rishikesh (16 kms). Today, we hit some of the most exciting rapids on the Ganga i.e. Return to Sender, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Club house, Initiation, Double Trouble and Hilton. One can try Body Surfing and Cliff Jumping also in this section. In the later part, we float past temples and ashrams and Ghats. Enjoy the riverbank life along the Ganga. Rafting session ends. After Rafting, get back to camp. Have lunch in camp. Spend some free time to explore the area. Also enjoy evening bonfire with lite snacks. Have dinner. Overnight at the jungle camp.
After breakfast, relax at camp or near to river. Enjoy your meals close to nature
